The Innovation of HeatwaveTM prevents ambient moisture from condensing in the critical components inside our PID sensor. Condensation of ambient moisture kills PID sensors that do not have a means to prevent liquid water from gathering on interior surfaces.
- Condensed moisture is very pure water and pure water is an extremely aggressive solvent.
- Once it is present, water dissolves and moves contaminants within the sensor. These contaminants get re-deposited in various locations as the cycle of condensation and drying repeats itself on a daily basis; condensing at night and drying during the day. This movement of contamination changes the response of the sensor making its performance unpredictable.
- Even more problematic is the aggressive nature of the condensed moisture once it has dissolved halogenated compounds and formed acids that attack internal surfaces. PID sensors in high humidity environments with Chlorinated and/or fluorinated compounds present can be destroyed in as little as 2 weeks of operation.
All manner of bad things happen when ambient moisture condenses in the sensor.
HeatwaveTM stops the condensation.
